Team of Jitu Rai and Heena Sidhu on Monday won 10m pistol mixed event and bagged the first-ever gold for India in ISSF shooting World Cup.
This is first time when shooters are competing in mixed events at a World Cup event. There are also talks of including mixed event in 2020 Tokoyo Olympics.
Jitu Rai and Heena Sidhu defeated Japan in the final, however, the mixed event is a test-only event which means there are no official World Cup medals and no official scores added to the shooters’ accolades.
Earlier on Friday Pooja Ghatkar picked up the bronze in the 10m air rifle event of shooting world Cup.
