India's ace shuttler P V Sindhu on Thursday defeated Saena Kawakami of Japan in BWF Indian Open at Sirifort stadium in Delhi.PV Sindhu won the first game but K Kawakami gave tough fight in the second game but Sindhu managed to win the contest.
PV Sindhu edges past Saena Kawakami with score of 21-16, 23-21 to set up all Indian quarter with Saina Nehwal.
Earlier, on Wednesday Rio Olympic silver medallist PV Sindhu didn't break too much sweat as she defeated fellow Indian compatriot Anuradha Pantawane in straight games to sail into the second round of the BWF Indian Open.
The tall and lanky shuttler was in all conquering mode against right from the beginning of the match. Pantawane known more for her doubles game gave Sindhu a tough competition in the opening game but Sindhu overpowered her in the second set to seal the match and book her place in the second round.
