Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal on Friday entered semifinals of Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold. Top seed Saina, who is desperately looking for a win to boost her confidence after recovering from a knee surgery which derailed her Rio Olympics campaign last year, spanked eighth seed Fitriani Fitriani of Indonesia in the top contest.
Earlier on Thursday Saina Nehwal and Ajay Jayaram advanced to the quarterfinal stage of the season-opening Malaysia Masters Grand Prix Gold. London Olympics bronze-medallist Nehwal cruised past Indonesia’s Hanna Ramadini 21-17, 21-12 in pre-quarter finals.
