Apple reportedly abandoned all plans to launch a 4k TV over one year ago as the company failed to differentiate the product from other features in its stable.
According to The Verge, Apple reportedly considered a FaceTime video chat feature that would direct cameras to the speaker.
Before deciding that the cost and image quality compromises were too high, Apple also tested laser-powered transparent displays in the mid-2000s.
Apple is ready to announce a new version of the Apple TV set-top box and an internet TV service at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June.
