You Must Have Heard Of Electric Cars, Gadgets And Electric Bicycles But Have You Heard About Roads That Can Wirelessly Charge Moving Vehicles?
You must have heard of electric cars, gadgets and electric bicycles but have you heard about roads that can wirelessly charge moving vehicles?
Yes, in order to give a push to adopting environment-friendly ways on roads, there are roads that are specially built to charge the moving vehicles.
In fact, there are also a few countries around the world that have switched to the use of electric cars to reduce the carbon percentage in the air.
Lately in Delhi also, even-odd rule has started with an aim to curb the choking levels of pollution in the city.
Some have also constructed wireless roads that can charge moving electric buses. It was done with the aim of convincing people to run more and more electric vehicles thus reducing the pollution levels. This process is known as inductive charging or wireless charging.
Here are some of the interesting facts to know:
In Gumi city of South Korea a road of seven-and-a-half-mile stretch has been constructed with power sources periodically rooted in the road so that running buses can charge their batteries
Batteries that are used in the buses are almost a third of the size of a normal electric car battery. These buses are more cost effective and don't need to stop for charging
This technology helps to curb the carbon level in the air, thus reducing the pollution. These roads have been specially constructed using electric cables designed to power batteries on a moving passenger bus.
A special technology called 'Shaped Magnetic Field In Resonance' has been used that sends electromagnetic fields created by the electric cables buried in the asphalt to the intended buses, but not normal cars.
