Apple approaches Trai for Inclusion of DND app on iOS App Store
After Initial Protest, Cupertino Giant Apple Has Sought More Consultation From Telecom Regulatory Authority Of India (TRAI) To Include Its DND App On The App Store.
After initial protest, Cupertino giant Apple has sought more consultation from Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) to include its DND app on the App Store.
Earlier, Apple refused to include TRAI’s Do Not Disturb (DND 2.0) application to the app store saying it violates company’s privacy policies.
TRAI has launched DND app to keep a check on spam calls and messages. Apple denied adding the app to its application to its app store as DND seeks user’s private data.
"They (Apple) have written to us for a meeting on the issue saying that they have an approach on this which they want to discuss," TRAI Chairman R S Sharma on Thursday said.
TRAI had introduced a new DND app which allows its users to know about the spam calls and messages. The app also gives an option to directly flag these spam calls via the app.
The DND application needs users call logs and SMS list to detect spam and Apple rejected including the app due to this requirement.
