Google now allows users to make their own GIFs through Gboard app!!
While The Feature Was Available On The App Since September 2017, It Was Hidden In The Pile Of Emojis On The Board. But Now, Google Will Bring The Feature To The Front Of The Keyboard On The Suggestions Area, Making It Easier For The Users To Reach.
Google, in a hush-hush manner, has updated its Gboard app on both Android and iOS to add additional support for Graphics Interchange Format (GIFs).
While the feature was available on the app since September 2017, it was hidden in the pile of emojis on the board. But now, Google will bring the feature to the front of the keyboard on the suggestions area, making it easier for the users to reach.
The new GIF feature lets the user record their own GIFs with smartphone’s camera lens. Two shooting modes are provided for recording GIF, including the Loop and Fast Forward. The Loop is similar to the Boomerang feature of social media platform Instagram, which allows the user to record a short three-second video and share it with others.
The Fast Forward mode will record a one-minute video to share and the once the recording finishes, the app will speed the video for the viewers. When the user is done making the GIF, a copy-paste to send it to a particular chat will forward the GIF to the contacts selected.
Adding a GIF to the Gboard is now made simpler by this step. Live photos can be picked from iOS or other similar feature to share GIFs, while Samsung’s S-Pen can be used to draw GIFs by the user.
The new GIF feature is yet not available on every platform, but the update is expected soon by the company.
