There is tremendous excitement among people who are smartphone enthusiast as more than 2.5 lakh registrations have been made so far in India to buy Samsung Galaxy Note 8 device which will be launched in the country on September 12, news agency IANS reports.
Interestingly, on September 12 tech giant, Apple would unveil its next big device in the US which is the much awaited iPhone 8. According to a report, As much as 1.5 lakh people have registered on Amazon, with 72,000 pre-booking Samsung Galaxy Note 8, the on the very first day when the registrations were open last weekend.
Nearly one lakh people have registered to buy Galaxy Note 8 on Samsung India website, industry sources told news agency IANS. As far as specifications are concerned the smartphone comes with an edge-to-edge bezel-less display with an unusual 18.5:9 aspect ratio. It is built on top of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 chipset, although India will get the Exynos 8895 version as was the case with Galaxy S8.
Further, it features 6 gigs of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage which is expandable. It runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat-based TouchWiz UI -- Samsung Experience UX -- and supports 4G LTE connectivity.
There’s a 6.3-inch 2K AMOLED Infinity Display at the front and a 12MP + 12MP dual camera setup at the back. Moreover, it constitutes a dedicated button for Samsung’s virtual voice assistant Bixby. It also has a 3300mAh battery and is IP68 certified water and dust resistant.
Along with the fingerprint scanner placed on the back adjacent to camera module, the Galaxy Note 8 also sports an iris scanner and facial recognition for biometric security.
