Ranveer Singh’s next masala Bollywood entertainer Simmba is on the roll for sky-high promotions. With the trailer launch of the Rohit Shetty directorial action film, Simmba is already in line to be the next blockbuster. Ranveer, who was present at the trailer launch, expressed that his wife Deepika Padukone is quite impressed by his recent work. When asked whether Deepika had seen the trailer, the energy ball actor replied, “Rohit sir showed her some rushes on my birthday. She doesn’t say much. She never speaks much. When the rushes ended, she looked at me and said, ‘Bada hot lag raha hai.’”
Ranveer’s wedding to Deepika has been the most discussed and celebrated events lately creating immense buzz across quarters. At the trailer launch, the Band Baaja Baarat actor mentioned that he now aims at becoming ‘the husband of the millennium.’
According to a report in the Indian Express, the actor said, “I have already become the boyfriend of the millennium. Now, I am working towards becoming the husband of the millennium,” adding that he knew in the first six months of his relationship that Deepika Padukone is the one for him.
Simmba will be the first film in Ranveer’s acting career in which he will be seen portraying a role of a cop. Ranveer lauded the action director for his projection. He said, “Nobody projects heroes quite like Rohit Shetty. That’s why every leading man wants to be in a Rohit Shetty film because you know the way he is going to present you, nobody else can. It’s been a huge honour and privilege for me to be his leading man.”
The actor said that he always been a huge fan of Rohit Shetty and his Singham franchise. Working with Rohit and Karan in Simmba has been a dream come true for Ranveer.
“I had been waiting to be a part of Rohit Shetty’s film but it is not easy to get into his films. You have to earn the right to be in his world. Then, we did the Chingz ad and I thought I would do everything that it takes to be a part of his film,” he added further.
Ranveer concluded by saying that, “Whatever has happened in my life, I couldn’t even dream about it. I just wanted to be an actor. I had never imagined what’s happening with me. The kind of people I worked with, to get launched by Aditya Chopra. All this is beyond my wildest imagination.”
Simmba will be Ranveer’s first venture with Rohit Shetty, while his newlywed wife Deepika was earlier seen in the director’s Chennai Express, co-starring Shah Rukh Khan.
Produced under the banner of Dharma Productions, Reliance Entertainment and Rohit Shetty Pictures, Simmba features Ranveer Singh, Sara Ali Khan in lead roles and Sonu Sood, Siddharth Jadhav and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on December 28.
