LS Polls: How spiritual symbols influence voting pattern in India

Speaking about PM Modi's visit to the Himalayan shrine of Kedarnath, senior journalist Manoj Gairola said, "In United States, the democracy has matured to the extent that leaders moving with the bible in their hands or wearing any spiritual symbol do not make a difference in the voting pattern." He added that democracy in India still needs to go a long way to get that kind of maturity.
