Assembly elections 2016: Assam, West Bengal vote in first phase

Voting for the first phase of assembly polls in West Bengal and Assam has begun. While Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee faces a tough fight from Left-Congress combine, Tarun Gogoi of Congress is striving hard to retain power in the key northeastern state.
