Idea India Ka: A nine-year-old boy from Jammu and Kashmir’s Gurez district of Bandipora had invented a ‘counting pen’ that counts words while writing. The boy, named Muzaffar Ahmad Khan, invented the pen when he got fewer marks in an examination and on asked why fewer marks, the teacher said that Khan had written 20 words instead of 25 words. The prototype of the pen was displayed at the Festival of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, organized by National Innovation Foundation - India (NIF) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Khan said, “Its a pen with casing attached to its rear. Once someone starts writing,it shows word count that will be displayed on small LCD monitor attached to it or can also be displayed on one’s mobile phone through a message.”
