Question Hour: Heavy rains trigger flood-like situation in Mumbai; BMC turns a blind eye
The incessant rains for the last four days battered Mumbai, leaving the most parts of the city inundated in knee-deep water and throwing normal life completely out of gear. This is not the first time that the monsoon rains triggered flood like situation in the financial capital. While the entire nation eagerly awaits the monsoon to get relief from a blistering hot summer, the BMC's apathy and blind eye to Mumbai's inefficient water drainage system has made the Mumbaikars afraid of the season. However, in a much-needed relief to Mumbaikars, heavy rains took a break on Wednesday resuming the suburban train services for the passengers.
