Five times champion Venus Williams beat French Open Champion Jelena Ostapenko to make it to her 10th semifinal at Wimbledon. Venus overcame her Latvian opponent in straight sets to make it to the last four. Venus Williams shall be taking on Johanna Konta of Great Britain. Konta got the better of second seeed Simona Halep in a pulsating three set quarterfinal encounter. Playing in her 20th Wimbledon, Venus made it to the last four for the tenth time.
The American who won the ladies singles titles in 2000, 2001, 2005, 2007 and 2008 shall become the second oldest champion if she wins the title this time around.
