Apple launches refreshed MacBook Air, bit heavy on pockets but comes with Retina display and Touch ID
Apple launched its all-new MacBook Air, which was not upgraded since 2010, on Tuesday. Although the specifications of the MacBook were refreshed in 2017, it is only in 2018 that it receives a new design. The replenished version now features a Retina Display. The long-awaited change would be a first for the series. Next in line is the Touch ID, which is placed as a key on the keyboard and powered by the company’s T2 Security Chip.

Priced at $1199 (Rs 88,000 approximately), the laptop is 13-inch edge-to-edge Retina Display with 4 million pixels density. The narrow screen does not hinder the front-facing HD camera. Powered by 8-generation Intel dual-core i5 CPU and all-day battery life, the laptop comes with 16GB memory and up to 1.5TB SSD support.
The latest MacBook Air has a backlit keyboard with individual lighting behind each key, which is based on the third-generation Butterfly mechanism that’s said to be 4 times more reliable. Apple has also enhanced the stereo speakers and it is said to be 25% louder than the predecessor. With three microphone array and two Thunderbird ports, the laptop will support HDMI and USB Type-C for connectivity.

The latest addition to the MacBook family runs on macOS Mojave. The software also highlights new features such as Dark Mode and a redesigned Mac App Store.
A bit heavy on the pockets, the updated version of MacBook Air offers high-resolution display, a super-thin and sleek body, and of course all-day battery life.
