Xiaomi India is all set for the launch of its new smartphone, Redmi 5, in the Indian market. The company has set February 14, 2018 as the launch date of the smartphone.
The company took to Twitter to share this news with the audience along with sending media invites for the event. The smartphone is said to be a budget-friendly device for the customers.
The Twitter picture of the launch date features a big ‘5’ with the date under the number and a hashtag ‘GiveMe5’.
The phone was launched in China in December in four colour variants, Black, Gold, Light Blue, and Rose Gold.
The Redmi 5 will be dual-SIM (Nano) smartphone which runs on MIUI 9 with Android Nougat. Sporting a 5.7-inch HD+ display and an 18:9 aspect ratio, the Redmi 5 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC.
The smartphone comes in three storage variants, one with 2 GB RAM with 16 GB internal memory, 3 GB RAM with 32 GB internal memory, and 4 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage. The phone carries a 3300mAH battery power under its hood.

On the camera front, the Redmi 5 possesses a 12-mp rear camera with f/2.2 aperture and PDAF, and a 5-mp front camera with soft-light selfie flash. The smartphone carries a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, Micro-USB and ambient light sensor, proximity sensor, gyroscope, and accelerometer are included in the smartphone.
